Kate Lines has spent a lifetime working in various aspects of the music business.  She now feels inspired to bring all her talents together and use them to create opportunities for songwriters in her community.  A record label seems to be the perfect vehicle to inspire local artists to create, perform, produce and record original music.

Kate and her business partner Matt Simmons have created Garden Records, a record label commited to nurturing and producing home-grown music from Prince Rupert and the northwest.

Their first project is a compilation CD, full of songs written by past and present Rupertites.  Every song is about Prince Rupert.  The CD is due for release in 2010, Prince Rupert’s centennial year.
