Cruise Ships

By T. & K., September 26, 2009

t&k1 Tom and Kate worked as lounge singers on three cruise ships over a one-year period.  These are pictures of Fanning Island, an island two-days sail from Hawaii.

They traveled up to Alaska, down past Vancouver and San Francisco.  They hugged the coast of South America, went to the Falkland Islands, passed through the Panama canal and cruised through the Bahamas.  They sang every night, seven days a week.  Everyday the cruise ships would stop at a different port and tom and Kate would explore the area, returning to the boat by dinner time to sing from about 6:00pm to about midnight.  What a wonderful experience.  No room for families on the boat though, so Tom and Kate put their cruising career aside to settle down and start a family.

Singing and performing every night on a cruise ship was a great experience, and Tom and Kate think about doing it again after their 3-year-old daughter Sarah grows up.  That is certainly a long time from now!  Now they perform  in their new home town of Prince Rupert.
